4/03/2007 - April Update - Registration Info and Club Updates

Club registration was held March 24 with up to 38 new registrations to the club. An additional registration date will be held April 7 from 12:00 am to 3:00 pm at the club for everyone. Registration will continue throughout the year. If you wish to practice or play you must register on the Tuesday to allow for you to play on the Saturday. If you register on the Thursday you must wait until the following game date. Russell Blake, the club secretary will be available on the Tuesdays to make sure you fill out the correct paperwork and collect your fees.

Parents Information Day – to be held April 29 at 2:00 pm primarily for those parents in the mini division to upgrade their knowledge of the game and register. Contact Steve Hensman or Russ Blake via the web site addresses. 

Practice for men and women begins April 3 at the club and continues throughout the year. Men and women practice Tuesday and Thursday, juniors on the Monday and Wednesday with Mini practice on the Friday. All practices begin at 6:30.

The men’s first exhibition game will be against Markham, April 28 followed by Lindsay May 5. Both games are at home. May 12 is the season opener with the Wanderers men drawing a bye. The following weekend is a holiday. Our league home opener is May 26 verses Barrie. The schedules will be posted on the website when they become available. 

Woman’s Clinic – Ashley will be holding a women’s clinic the weekend of April 21, 22 from 9 to 3 each day. Depending on the weather, the clinic will be held on the field with some indoor sessions. Contact Ashley at ashley_mcallen@yahoo.ca  for further information.

We have two touring teams coming in this year. The first is Heriot Watt University Old boys scheduled for a June 28 game. The second is Windsor Boys School verses our U16 scheduled for July 8, 9 and 10. The Boys School will need billets for the first two nights with the game on the 10th.
